Do you have other retail locations?
Our workshop and showroom are in Port Carling, we do have some dealers but not many ask us for details.
Do you deliver and/or ship your chairs?
Yes. Please click here for more information, including the box dimensions.
Can I place an order by phone or email?
Yes! Please call us at 705-765-3836 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with the details of your order. We will need to know the following information: cedar or recycled plastic, size of chair, quantity and colour.
If I come to your store, am I able to buy chairs and take them with me?
Yes, depending on the size, colour and quantity.
Do you carry stock in every size and colour?
We are a small, family run business with a passion for building the best seats in Muskoka. We cut every board, drill every hole and assemble every chair by hand right here in Port Carling. Our chairs aren't mass produced and we hope that shows in the quality and craftsmanship of each chair we sell. It's simply not possible for us to build and store large stock levels. We also offer a wide variety of colours to ensure we have something for everyone.
Do your recycled plastic chairs fade?
It's important to know that not all recycled plastic is created equally. There are different qualities of plastic on the market today. We use only high quality recycled material made from solid plastics - milk bottles. This ensures our chairs stand up better to Mother Nature's elements than those made from a variety of recyclables, which might include soft plastic like shopping bags. As with anything that sits outside under the sun, you can expect a small degree of fading over an extended period of time, but we expect our chairs will be handed down and enjoyed for generations.
Which is better, recycled plastic or cedar?
This is a matter of personal taste. Some love and appreciate cedar chairs as a work of art, while others prefer the low maintenance of the recycled plastic. You can expect roughly 15-20 years of life from your cedar chairs, while recycled plastic will likely live on after you! We do recommend you store your cedar chairs inside over the winter to prolong their life, while recycled plastic chairs can be left outside. If you want the feel of the traditional wood chair paired with the maintenance of the recycled plastic, we'd recommend our 1" recycled plastic chair.
How do you finish your cedar Muskoka Chairs?
You may leave your cedar chair unfinished and it will turn a beautiful weathered grey. Or, you may opt for us to finish your chair with paint or stain at an additional cost. We use oil based high gloss paint and will match any Benjamin Moore colour. For stain, we use the Cetol Premium Collection by Sikkens. You can expect 2-3 seasons out of your paint finish and 4-6 out of stain. Adding a finish to your cedar chair does not extend the life of the chair.
Does your cedar chair come in kit form?
This is not something we would stock but it can be custom ordered this way for shipping purposes, or our chairs can come apart in 5 pieces for easier transportation.
How do I keep my recycled plastic chairs clean?
While recycled plastic is low maintenance, it's not no maintenance. Like all furniture, it does require regular cleaning. We recommend you wipe your chairs down regularly with a wet rag to remove any surface dirt. If it needs a deeper clean, hot soapy water with a scrub brush should be all you need. Do not use harsh chemicals or a pressure washer, as they may damage the plastic,
Are your kit chairs easy to put together?
Yes. Our recycled plastic chair kits come pre-drilled, include all the hardware you need, an instruction booklet. Your first chair should take you between 1-1.5 hours to assemble. After that, it should take between 40 minutes to 1 hour per chair.
I lost my instruction booklet, can you send me another one?
You can find out instructions online here.
What's the difference - other than price - between your three recycled plastic chairs?
- Thickness of material: Two of our chairs are made from 3/4" material and one is made from 1" material. This is the thickness of the material, not the width of the seat slats or arms.
- Width of arm: Our 3/4" chair comes with two options for arm width - narrow at 5.5" and wide at 8". Our 1" chair only comes with a 7.5" wide arm.
- Weight: Our 3/4" chair with the 5.5" arm is 48 pounds. Our 3/4" chair with 8" arm is 52 pounds. Our 1" chair with 7.5" arm is 80 pounds.
- Seat angle: The rails of the 5.5" arm chair are not as high as those on our wide arm chairs and, therefore, the slope of the seat is a little steeper. People describe it as feeling like you're sitting a bit deeper in the chair, whereas the wide arm chairs sit a little flatter.
What are the dimensions of your chairs?
All our recycled plastic Muskoka Chairs are 36" deep and 40.5" high. Our 3/4" with the 5.5" arm is 29.5" wide . Our 3/4" with the 8" arm is 34" wide. Our 1" cedar Muskoka Chair is 37" deep, 40.5" high and 33.5" wide. Our 2" cedar Muskoka Chair is 38" deep, 40.5" high and 33.5" wide.

- 1" western red cedar is approximately 35 pounds
